October is Gone...

This is a month in review look at October! Where did it go?

ODS finished up his football season. I am absolutely amazed at how much he has changed on and off the football field. On the field he was tough tackler, and a powerhouse when running the ball. The opponent would try to stop him, but he would always get a few more yards by just pushing. Off the field he is now 3 inches taller than I am (I know...that isn't that hard to do). Here are some pics...then onto the youngest.

YDS didn't participate in football this year, but he has been focusing on musical avenues. He is apart of an elementary sing group, and has been singing the national anthem at many of the home volleyball games. He will also be singing at the up coming Veteran's Day program at school. He has been given the chance to be apart of the elementary band this year; he is playing the trumpet. He has really picked it up quickly.

A couple of weekends ago we were suprised to wake up to snow! It snowed before ODS's birthday! It has never done since he was born. This has been a weird year for weather!

DH took both boys to football games this year. That is always an amazing experience for them. It will become a memory that they will keep their entire lives. Even though our beloved Cornhuskers lost both games, the boys had a great time just being able to watch out favorite past time in person.

Halloween has come and gone...what cute little spooks...YDS was the Grim Reeper and ODS handed out the candy.

MDNiece dressed a pretty Princess and posing with her pumpkin...

I think a good time was had by all.

Busy time of year...

It always seems like once football starts our lives hit overdrive! So this is a long entry, but just bear with me - it's worth it...

I need to take you back to last Saturday. We took off early to travel to see my DSIL and her family. We went with DFIL & MIL. We watched the football game at their house and attended YDNiece and YDNephew's baptism. DH and I were so honored to be asked to be their Godparents. Of course we had to take pictures while we were down there; however, there are more of our YDNephew than anyone else. It was great to see them, and we are so amazed at how much the two little ones had changed in two weeks. Here are some pics from our weekend...then onto the rest of the week...

Monday ODS had his first football game for this year. He had a great game! He had some awesome hits & runs, and he even made a touchdown!! WTG! PS. he is #7.

The boys had Awana on Wednesday, and play practice started for me on Thursday. Friday night we braved the cold rain and attended the high school football game. We spent today cleaning the house, staining the fence, and just spending time together. Tonight we watched the Huskers win in their 300th consecutive sell out! What a busy week...this next week is even worse! I'll post again next weekend...

FOOTBALL Game Day...

We traveled to the In-laws for the first game of year. To get into the spirit, the boys played a little catch before the big game. And we were all excited that the KC crew was making the trip up for the game. Here are some pics...enjoy!

Our YDNiece is so charming. She had fun chasing Chewy around and playing with Kyle, but I enjoyed the impromptu photo shoot. She had brought my camera over and said, "Take a picture of me." So that is what I did.

And of course, everyone was excited to see our YDNephew. Everyone wanted to hold him, and we tried our best to get him to talk. Which Kyle did very well.

State Fair Time Again...

It is that time of year again...time for the wild rides, time for the aromas of fried food on a stick to loft through the air, and time for the band to perform at the State Fair. We met family members down at the fair again this year to watch ODS & D.O.N. march. It was great to see family, and we had a great time together. YDS even got to go on a few rides with Mom and Dad, which was the highlight of our day! Here are some pics...enjoy!

Growing up...

Homeward Bound

ODS arrived back home on Monday. They left New Orleans on Sunday after church, and arrived in St. Louis late that night. Monday morning they left St. Louis for the 8 hour trip back home. It was so great to see him when they finally arrived. We heard about the amazing week he had. They worked with VBS kids, painted a house, chased salamanders, visited the French Quarter, and got the chance to see the ocean (the Gulf of Mexico actually). He had a great time bonding with the group, and helping the people of New Orleans.
