Look at the light...

YDS got the chance to go meet the youngest addition to our extended family. He was so excited, and I think she was intrigued! Here is a pic that was sent to us a couple of days ago! What a cutie! (Yes the dog is really cute too!) LOL!!

Stay Gold...

This is a picture that I took of our oldest son. I loved the way the sunset had added a glow to his face, but I didn't realize how striking it was until I looked at it on the computer. It made me think of the poem "Nothing Gold can Stay" by Robert Frost.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaves a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to greif.
Dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay.

Snow Day...

Here are the kids playing in the snow...

15 years...

It was on this day 15 years ago that I met my soulmate. We met at a Valetine's Day dance, and he has been my valentine from the first moment I met him. And I try to remember to tell him his is my Forever Valentine. We have spent the last 15 years growing together, starting a family together, and facing any thing life throws at us together. So every year my Valentine's day is always celebrated a day early, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Tag...

I have been tagged by a friend (Jennifer) at CMK to tell 6 quirky things about me. Here it goes...

1) I have always hada fear of have water on my face. That is one of the reasons I don't like taking showers - I am more of a bubble-bath type of girl. This allows me to keep my face high and dry! LOL!

2) I don't like to walk barefoot in the grass...ask my mom. I have been like that since I was little. I'm getting itchy just thinking about how scratchy it would feel!

3) I love to sleep! I could probably sleep all day if my conscience would let me!

4) I can't listen to music without getting up and dancing! That must just be the 11 years of dance class filtering its way back to the top!

5) I can't sleep if there is any noise in the house. I can normally lay there and tell what song is softly playing on the boys' radios. So I have to get up and turn them off before I can sleep. I also turn of the humidifier. Now if I could only turn off Dh's snoring! LOL!

6) I have hair issues. During the summer I keep my hair cut short (Bob style), and then starting in August I let it start to grow out. Then every April or May I get it chopped off for the summer again. This is a cycle that I have continued to do for half of my life now! So why you may ask...because my hair keeps my ears and neck warm in the winter! LOL!! Silly - I know.

Well I'm off to tag a friend; I hope you enjoyed learning a few of my little quirks.

The beauty of snow...

If you are anything like me, you like the look of snow but hate the cold and slick conditions that comes with it. Snow is pretty, until you get out in it! That doesn't seem to bother Chewy. It is amazing how snow can bring out the little kid in many people (and yes - even dogs!)

In Honor of the Super Bowl

Here is my inspiration drawn from a Becky Higgin's sketch.

PP: Crate Paper
Chipboard: Pressed Petals & Heidi Swapp
Mulberry paper
Stampin’ Up pens
Font: Times New Roman
Journaling: Ben, your second year of contact football was so thrilling! Besides getting the chance to play both offense and defense, you were able to really hone your skills of perception and timing. With plays like the Wing Back Slam, you were able to power through the opponent’s defense and gain yards! On defense you were an unstoppable monster! Congratulations on another successful year on the grid iron number 37!

My Guitar Heroes...

It is amazing how a simple video game can bring out the rock star in everyone. The boys bought Guitar Hero & Guitar Hero II and ever since then, they have been rocking the house daily! DH even gets into the fun on occasion. The boys are amazed that many of the songs they are trying to play, DH and I already know by heart! Rock On boys, Rock On!!!

Basketball Sunday...

ODS had another Sunday of basketball games...two actually. Look at him! He has really come into his groove with how to play the game.
