2nd LO for the day...

Here is another LO I did today about ODS and his best friend.

Scrapping today...

Here is one LO that I have done today already! I have a few that I would love to get done. I need to do some submitting!!

Come on fall!!!!

With days that are hot like today, I always find myself looking forward to fall!! We painted yesterday, and did get the house finished; however, the garage still needs to be painted. It has been so hot lately, and it doesn't look like we will get a break until mid week. So I am taking it easy today and tomorrow. Maybe I can actually get my house back in order! LOL!!!

Heat wave...

I started painting early this morning, but had to quit about 2. It was just TOO HOT!!!! To beat the heat we all went swimming - including Chewy!

ODS had football try-outs this morning, then he had to check out his gear! It is amazing to think that it is almost that time of year again!

DH is going fishing tonight, so I was thinking about watching a movie with the kiddos, well then again - I may SCRAP!!!!

Other news...
To many this might not mean much, but it is huge for me. I sent my entries for the Memory Makers 2007 Masters Contest out today. I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!! This is a huge contest, and there are so many talented ladies who are entering! Good luck everyone!

Almost done...

So we are still paiting the house. But here is a before shot. The house was all white with a yellowish-brown trim.

Here is an after picture. The house is now greyish-brown with hunter green trim.

TOO HOT!!!!

Today was HOT!!! The temp was 105 with heat indexes at 110 or higher! We painted early, then chilled this afternoon in the air conditioning and the pool! Even little Chewy got to swim for awhile!

Painting again...

Yep - I'm painting again! This time it is my own house. Here is a before picture - check back in about a week for the after picture!

Family Update...

July 16th...
YDS celebrated his birthday by having a sleepover. They went swimming, played games and watched the Pink Panther. The next day G&G came to help him celebrate - they got him a superman suit!

July 17th...
Dh and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary! The boys made us cereal for breakfast.

July 14th...A Chewy Adventure

It is amazing how even the smallest (in this case a pretty big) toad can catch the attention of a puppy. It was so funny watching Chewy discover a toad for the first time. He was a little on edge because he wasn't sure what to make of the toad, but ever time the toad would jump, chewy would jump following it. He was literally hopping on all fours after it!!! I haven't laughed so hard in my life!

Thursday, July 13th...Coming Home!

We left Las Vegas in the early afternoon. It was time to come home. We were all exhausted! On our way into Omaha we flew in between two thunderstorms - we had great pilots!!! They got us down on the ground 5 minutes before the second storm came barreling through!

Once we were home my parents brought the dogs back home! It was so good to see the puppies, we had really missed them. I think they were pretty happy to see us too! BTW - Thanks mom and dad for watching them! Hopefully now you can keep your toilet paper supply! LOL!!

Wednesday, July 12th...Relaxing and Rocking

We took today to chill out! We spent part of the morning packing, and then we took the boys swimming. The water almost seemed as if it were salt water instead of water with chemicals. MIL and I did go down and hit the one armed bandits - I won $87! COOL! We made sure we had everything ready to go for Thursday, and then DH and I headed out on the town for some time together.

Dh surprised me with tickets for the Elton John Red Piano Tour at Ceasar's Palace. It was an early anniversary present! And let me tell you - IT ROCKED!!! He started with Benny and the Jets! That is ODS's song!! He also sang: Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me, Someone Saved My Life tonight, Rocket Man, I Guess that's why they Call it the Blues (YDS's song), Tiny Dancer, Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting, Pinball Wizard, Philadelphia Freedom, Candle in the Wind, Your Song, I'm Still Standing, Believe, and The Bitch is Back!

Elton even had his own store in Ceasar's Palace! I loved seeing all the memorabilia from his early days!

Tuesday, July 11th...Part Three...Back to Vegas

We spent 2 and a half hours at the South Rim of The Grand Canyon. When we left we were all really hungry! On the way to TGC we saw a sign for McDonald's, thinking that was funny I took a picture of the sign. But we did decide that it would be a great place to eat on our way home. So we pull up to the drive through and start ordering. Then we noticed the prices! $8 for a Big Mac!!! WHAT?! When we got to the window to receive our order we asked why the prices were so high? Well duh - they are in the middle of nowhere! They are the 2nd most expensive McDonald's in the world. Japan is the highest. I kept the receipt,,yeah - I'm scrapping it!

On our way back to Vegas we decided to cross the Hoover Dam. I was a little worried about it, but when we crossed we really couldn't see anything.

So what made this trip possible? A DVD player that the boys watched the whole way there and the whole way back!

Tuesday, July 11th...Part Two...The Grand Canyon

When we asked the boys what their favorite part of our trip was, they both said - THE GRAND CANYON! It may have taken us 6 hours to get there, but that made it all worth it. It was hard to take it in really. As we stood there it seemed as if we were just looking at a painting or picture. It isn't until you are against the rim that you realize - this isn't a picture! It was so beautiful! God really knows how to landscape on a major scale!!
