Dear Emmy...
Emmy Lou...you are a treasure that will be stored in our hearts. Your sweet demeanor was a gift straight from God. You had a sad life before you came into my parents life 5 months ago, and even though you struggled, you made a huge impact on them. They wanted to make your life comfortable, and they did. It was hard for them to let you go only after five months, but the years you spent in the puppy mill had taken a too big of a toll on your little body. Mom and Dad were just happy to see you had a loving and comfortable life for 5 months. Take care baby girl...we will see you again some day on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
Christmas Eve...
We spent Christmas Eve at my parents...the kids had a blast opening up gifts and playing!
Even the puppies had a great time. We had all 8 dogs in the house with the 5 kids and 6 adults. Some may think it is crazy, but they are family too! Here are some pics of the tired puppies after a great Christmas.

On the road...
Well we took off early this morning to head to KC for an early Christmas. My SIL is pregnant, so we decided to come down and have Christmas at her house! :) So we wanted to take our time getting to KC since we couldn't check in until early afternoon.
We went on a little trip down memory lane. We stopped at G-Gpas to drop in and say hello. We took him a couple Christmas presents and a cherry pie. He loves seeing the boys, and the boys love seeing him and going to his farm. Gpa had some chickens, that lead to some amusement for the boys. After we left we drove to PSC to check out all the changes they have made to the campus since we have graduated. The theater was a huge part of my life when I was in college, but now there are no more plays that are put on. That was the only change that had upset me. For the most part they have done an amazing job changing some of the old buildings to reflect a more modern appeal. We had to pick up Alumni gear too! :) There are so many good memories that DH and I both have about college and the towns we lived in.
For part of a Christmas persent to the boys we decided to stay one night at the Great Wolf Lodge. We checked in about 1:00 and we were in the water park by 1:15! I can't post any pictures right now, but I will post some when we get home!
After about 3 hours of swimming we decided to go out to eat. The boys had talked me into Famous Dave's. It has been so long since I have eaten B-B-Q; now I kept think that there was some reason why I haven't eaten it in so long, but at the time I couldn't remember. Some times certain B-B-Qs are just a little to spicy, and I thought that was why I had eaten it. Then we get in there. I order some ribs and roasted chicken. DH & ODS spend there time amusing themselves with trying all the different sauces and watching each other's faces! :) So our food finally arrives...no utensils! Now I remember! I have long nails and a fettish with keeping my hands clean. I was having some majors issues as we ate. It was quit comical - I was even laughing at myself. Picking...pulling...prodding...wiping! LOL!!
After supper we went to Cabella's. The boys were amazed with all the animals around the store. I was impressed with the fighting elephants.
Well - we need to head back to the water park...the natives are restless.

Sweet Sixteen...

Where does the time go?
So I'm sitting here tonight. The boys and I watched the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, and I was thinking about how I used to hold them in my lap and snuggle under a blanket to watch all the Christmas shows. They are too big for that now! LOL!! But they still watched it with me. When it was finished I went to check on DH (he got a VCR/DVD recorder today) and he was transferring one of our tapes to DVD. It was when the boys were younger. I watched them on the screen thinking wow - that can't have been that long ago! But it was. Although they have grown up, I can look back on them and still see how their little personalities have stuck with them. They still have the same habits, mannerisms, and essence. They are so precious to me - they will always be my little boys no matter how big they get!
