The Big Easy

ODS left Monday on a mission trip to New Orleans.

Monday night they stayed in St. Louis and went to a Cardinals game. This was his vantage point during the game.

Late last night; after traveling through Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana, they arrived in the Gulf port city of New Orleans. They are helping with a local VBS during the mornings and doing relief work for the people of New Orleans in the afternoon.

ODS will get back next Monday, and I can't wait to hear about his trip. I just thank God that He got them there safely.

There and Back again

After we left KC, we drove to Des Moines to see Switchfoot in concert. This is YDS's favorite band. We arrived a few hours before the show, and saw the bus outside the venue. We were hanging out across the street (we were checking our e-mail), when the lead singer of the band came out to talk to us. YDS was on cloud nine! YDS spent some time talking to him, and then we went to eat. Once the concert started, we watched the three opening acts from a table toward the back. Once Switchfoot took the stage DH and YDS made their way to the front so YDS to see the band. They rocked! The lead singer even came out into the audience and stood on the table ODS and I were sitting at. We all had a great time, but the best moment happened after the concert. YDS is a member of "Friends of the Foot", so he was given a backstage pass to meet the band. He spent quite a bit of time talking with them, and I have to say, they were the sweetest guys to YDS. There and Back

We traveled to KC then to Des Moines and back in two and a half days. We made a perfect triangle, and had a blast doing so.

When went to KC to vist our new DYNephew. We spent time with them, and held him, and ate some great BBQ! It was so good to see everyone. Here are a few picks from this part of our trip.









And our DYNiece spent the night with us. We went swimming and watched TV.

Then we took off for Des Moines...but that is tomorrow's blog.

Birthday Boy

YDS had a birthday recently, so that meant taking the annual pics and having a party. Both which he thoroughly enjoyed. Here are the pics from both.

Dog Days of Summer

Summer is always such a great time to get pics of the dogs. Even if they get busted drinking out of the bird bath! LOL!

Auntie again...

On July 13th our YDN (youngest dear nephew) was born. We are so happy he finally made it! We are looking forward to seeing him soon.

We all love a parade...

We spent time with MIL & FIL a couple weekends ago. They we both in the town's parade; FIL as a part of the Veteran's carrying the flag, and MIL with the Auxiliary group. YDS had a great time chasing down candy, while ODS watched the parade with us. Here are some pics from that day.
